Freedom

Every fiber of my flesh is made to find its peace, its fulfillment in God. …Man must turn and recognize that he is a creature, dependent on God. The possibility of living a truly free and full life is linked to the acknowledgement of this dependence which in its depths is the joyous discovery of being God’s children.

Freedom

True freedom is ultimately based on and develops in God. It is a gift that can be accepted as the seed from which the person and society can grow responsibly and be enriched. The exercise of this freedom implies reference to a natural moral law that is universal, which precedes and unifies all rights and duties.

Freedom

Freedom of the Spirit is never identified with licentiousness, nor with the possibility to choose evil, but rather with 'the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control' (Gal 5:22). This is true freedom: actually to be able to follow our desire for good, for true joy, for communion with God and to be free from the oppression of circumstances that pull us in other directions.
