Mary |

Mary was, so to speak, "at home" with God's word, she lived on God's word, she was penetrated by God's word. To the extent that she spoke with God's words, she thought with God's words, her thoughts were God's thoughts, her words, God's words. She was penetrated by divine light and this is why she was so resplendent, so good, so radiant with love and goodness.

Mary is beauty transfigured, the image of the new humanity. By presenting herself in this way, in utter dependence upon God, Mary expresses in reality an attitude of total freedom, based upon the full recognition of her true dignity.

Mary teaches us that the source of our joy and our one sure support is Christ, and she repeats his words: ’Do not be afraid’ (Mark 6:50), ‘I am with you’ (Mt. 28:20).

Mother full of Mercy and Justice, by your docility to the Spirit, the Comforter, obtain for us the grace to be witnesses of the Risen Lord, so that we may become ever more fully the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Mary is...totally emptied of herself, she has given herself entirely to Christ and with him is given as a gift to us all.
Indeed, the more the human person gives himself, the more he finds himself.

You are full of grace, Mary… your ‘yes’ to the Creator’s plan opened to us the path of salvation. Teach us also, at your school, to say ‘yes’ to the Lord’s will. Let it be a ‘yes’ that joins with your own ‘yes’ without reservations or shadows.

Mary was the first, in a way which can never be equalled, to believe and experience that Jesus, the Incarnate Word, is the summit, the peak of man's encounter with God.
